Inks

Wax emulsions give water-based inks the performance properties of solvent-based systems--without the environmental negatives. Over a dozen Michelman products are used to enhance ink performance in a variety of ways, including:

  • PE, Fischer-Tropsch and specially-formulated emulsions to improve rub resistance
  • Carnauba, paraffin and PE emulsions to prevent blocking
  • Paraffin blends for water and moisture resistance

Additional products improve release, chemical resistance, gloss, matting and/or adhesion. Michelman’s formulators work closely with customers to select the surface modifier most appropriate for each printing application.
